About The Artist ::
Geeta Dutt came from a wealthy family. Her father Devendrananth Roy Chowdhary was the richest man in his area. Her mother had a fondness for the fine arts. Geeta was the only one of their ten children who was inclined towards music and singing. Her mother loved music and she encouraged Geeta to learn. A tutor was employed and as a schoolgirl Geeta diligently practised her singing for several hours every day.
She was a born singer and she just had to hear a tune once in order to start humming it and then render it perfectly.
